Job Details

Applications are invited for a full time Consultant in Sedation and Special Care Dentistry to work across the University Dental Hospital, University Hospital Llandough and Community Dental Service in the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This exciting post offers a rare opportunity to shape the strategy for adult special care dental services across primary and secondary care, and to develop a ‘Community of Practice’ around Special Care Dentistry within the health board area.

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to collaborate with advice to Cardiff University to help provide high quality education to undergraduates in the areas of Sedation and Special Care Dentistry.

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services. The University Hospital of Wales is a regional and national centre for a number of medical specialties and this role will include opportunities to support the development of networks where medicine and dentistry interface.

Applicants must be on the General Dental Council Specialist list in Special Care Dentistry or within 6 months of completion of specialty training in Special Care Dentistry.

The post will be remunerated on the Consultant pay scale (Wales) £106,000 - £154,760 per annum.
