Senior Lecturer in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy
Salary: £48,350 – £56,021 per annum
About us
The University of Suffolk is an ambitious new institution. We have identified growing our health and wellbeing portfolio as a strategic priority and as a result there has been significant investment in growing our health-related teaching facilities, in the form of our >£13 million new health and wellbeing quarter.
In addition, the University has worked in partnership with the SNEE ICB to develop NHS-dental clinical facilities on our Ipswich campus. This is an innovative partnership which will have a positive impact on the oral health of our local community. In early 2024 we be complementing this development by launching a new BSc (Hons) in Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
We are therefore looking to appoint an experienced academic to work with us to develop the provision and act as course leader. You will work closely with our Dean of School, Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning), Head of Placements and Health Partnerships and the region’s dental community to design the new programme and plan placements.
About you
You will hold current GDC registration as a dental hygienist, dental hygienist/therapist or dentist, hold a relevant higher degree level qualification and have significant experience in delivery of oral health education in the higher education setting.
You will also have experience of overseeing learning and assessment and in designing new programmes of learning.
Please refer to the full job description for further details on this new opportunity or for an informal discussion, please contact Laura Swinfen (School Manager) - l.swinfen@uos.ac.uk
Closing date: Friday 22 September, 12:00 pm.
Interview date: Monday 9 October 2023.
We are a values driven organisation, committed to ensuring we remain a beacon for aspiration and achievement, while providing a great environment to work and study.
We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit. We offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, staff engagement forums, campus facilities and services to support staff from different backgrounds. If you share our values and our vision, you will find a home at the University of Suffolk.
