Overall job purpose:

As a dual site practice manager, you will provide leadership to ensure the practices thrive in a culture where employees are supported, developed, and communicated with. You will be innovative and able to constantly look for ways to improve; the ways of working, patient access and clinical growth.

In a busy and fast-moving role, you will need to be highly responsive to a range of changing demands and be able to juggle a wide range of activities.  The role is part of the Operations Team and is expected to work closely with other members to provide complete operational support to achieve the Obex deliverables.

 

You will be expected to have a lasting impact with your teams and stakeholders by demonstrating outstanding leadership, deliver the operational KPIs, drive excellent customer service whilst bringing ideas & insights, be adaptive and agile in how you work.

CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Leadership: Oversee all employees within the Practice; have direct line management responsibility for the Lead Nurse and Lead Receptionist.  Ensure all employees have clear guidance on responsibilities and conduct themselves in line with their clinical and Obex training to deliver the highest care to patients. In doing so you will build and maintain a robust team to aid business growth.

 

Operational: Be responsible for the day to day running of a successful Practice.  Possess sound knowledge and administration of dental ethics.  Working in collaboration with the operations team members to ensure the practice thrives.  Innovate and streamline processes, looking at ways to improve ways of working, patient access & clinical growth.

 

Performance Management: Facilitate the successful delivery of KPIs for the Practice; not limited to but including delivery of the site’s NHS contract, private income, sundry sales, absence management, employee development and engagement, clinical compliance and associate relationships.

 

Premises and Equipment: Ensure the premises are immaculately presented, both patient facing and behind the scenes.  Liaise with the Area Manager on all maintenance issues in a timely manner, ensuring the practice is run in line with Health and Safety guidelines.

 

Clinical Governance: Ensure that the Practice and employees all have the relevant CPD logged and compliance is regularly captured, reviewed and kept up to date in line with the regulatory body requirements.

 

Finance: To understand the financial levers that are required to run a profitable Practice.  Ensure all financial matters including but not limited to; cashing up, bad debts management, outgoing costs of laboratory works, and stocks management are all tightly controlled within budget.

 

Other: Actively support the wider work and initiatives of Obex and carry out any other duties as required by the role.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge and experience
Essential:

Working within a clinical regulated environment

Minimum 3 years leadership within a large establishment

Delivering an NHS (Dental) Contract

Managing multiple priorities

 

Desirable:

Current Practice Manager or Lead

Knowledge of Exact and Power BI

Understanding of CQC regulations

Understanding of patient plans

 

Education and qualification(s)

Level 3 qualifications (2 A levels) or equivalent.

Degree level qualification (desirable) or career development through a Practice environment.

Special requirements

Willingness to travel. The role will travel between sites in the group.

Clean driving licence.

 

Additional information

The practices are open a range of hours Monday – Saturday, therefore some flexibility to hours will be required to meet trade demand.
