About the Role

Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry in the Centre for Teaching and Innovation. A major aspect of the post is to provide clinical teaching and support for the training of BDS undergraduates and DCP students providing Restorative Dentistry treatment at Outreach sites and at Whitechapel. This role will have a focus at Outreach sites. Currently, these sites are located at Barkantine (Canary Wharf), Guttmann ~ (Stratford) and a new site Kenworthy Road (Homerton).

About You

We are seeking an exceptional individual to enable maintenance and improvement of our strong reputation in Teaching and innovation. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to demonstrate creativity and to have their career flourish in this supportive environment. The appointee will have a strong track record. Candidates should be a highly credible clinician and experienced in dental education. They should have wide ranging experience of teaching and assessment in dental education and have a record of scholarship activity in dental education. Their educational interest will complement the education and scholarship strategy of the Institute of Dentistry and the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at QMUL.

An appropriate honorary clinical contract will be requested from Barts Health NHS Trust and the successful applicant will be expected to take part in all aspects of clinical governance activities and participate in the QMUL staff appraisal scheme.

The Institute of Dentistry (IoD) is one of six Institutes in the School of Medicine and Dentistry (SMD), located primarily on our Whitechapel site. It comprises five academic centres and employs in excess of 170 staff (c77 FTE).

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London (the post holder may also be required to carry out duties on other College/Hospital sites). It is full time, indefinite appointment, with an expected start date as soon as possible. The starting salary will be in the range of £56,502- £79,927 per annum, exclusive of London Weighting Allowance.
