Associate Dentist

Due to the relocation of one of our lovely dentists, we have an exciting opportunity for a new associate to come and join our amazing private dental practice!

We are a principal owned private dental practice that was established over 60 years ago. We are a prestigious practice with an excellent local reputation. We are located in a beautiful old building over-looking the Borough Gardens in the centre of Dorchester, Dorset. We are surrounded by stunning countryside and quaint villages and are only a short trip away from the seaside. The practice has easy access by road and public transport, we are just a 5 minute walk from Dorchester train station.

Investment has been huge over recent years and the practice has been fully refurbished. The air conditioned surgery available was purpose built to a high specification only 6 months ago. We are fully computerised and have a CBCT scanner and digital radiographs. We have a dedicated consultation room with wall mounted presentation screen. There is full freedom of choice with consumables and equipment, and the practice is happy to invest in new technology for the benefit of our patients.

You will enjoy a friendly working environment, with excellent support from a highly experienced and professional team who take pride in their work. We maintain high standards of clinical governance and have a highly experienced practice manager who has worked at the practice for over 40 years. You will also be assisted by our treatment coordinator and 3 full-time hygienists/therapists. We do also like to have fun and social events are always in the diary!

We are not necessarily looking for the ‘finished article’ but the right person to join our team; someone who is friendly, enthusiastic, keen to learn, has both excellent interpersonal skills and manual dexterity. Someone who strives to provide the best care for their patients in an efficient manner. We are very happy to provide training and mentoring and actively encourage development in any areas of interest. Our patients are happy to invest in their oral health and appreciate quality general care, but we also enjoy a high uptake of high value treatments such as whitening, aligners, endodontics, implants, composite bonding and cosmetic dentistry in general.

This would initially be a part time position, taking over a stable list of well maintained, friendly patients built up over the last seven years. With the majority of the patient base being members of Denplan Essentials or Care you are ensured a stable monthly income. However there is ample opportunity to provide more advanced treatment to your existing patients or those patients who approach the practice seeking complex care. Flexible working is accommodated and with a waiting list of quality patients, additional clinical sessions are available if desired.
