About the Role

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for a permanent position of Clinical Senior Lecturer / Honorary Consultant in Oral Surgery in the Institute of Dentistry, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London and Barts Health NHS Trust.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London (although the post holder may also be required to carry out duties on other College/Hospital sites)

Within the University you will play an active role in the organization and delivery of teaching as well as assessment of undergraduate and post graduate students in oral surgery. The successful candidate will become the lead for the oral surgery component of the BDS course.

Within the Trust you will be expected to provide specialist services, advice and treatment appropriate to the needs of the Institute of Dentistry and the Trust by liaising and collaborating with senior colleagues within the Institute of Dentistry and within Barts Health NHS Trust.

Whilst primarily a Teaching and Scholarship appointment within the University you will be encouraged to develop your own independent research programmes within the framework of the institute’s research strategy and priorities. We are happy to consider applications from existing consultants or senior academics.

About You

You will have a PhD in Oral Surgery, and / or relevant professional qualification and / or equivalent professional experience. You will have substantial experience in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level in large or small group settings with the demonstrable ability to deliver teaching at both levels with some guidance and evidence of high quality general or subject-specific pedagogical work published in appropriate renowned outlets / media.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is for 2 (1 full time and 1 part time) permanent appointment post. The starting salary will be clinical scale, in the range of £84,559 - £114,003 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
