We are recruiting for an outstanding individual to join us as Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. The post-holder will be responsible for undertaking research and developing learning and teaching in Restorative Dentistry and related disciplines for undergraduate dental (BDS), dental therapy (BSc) and postgraduate students, and will be the Final Year Lead for the BDS course.

The post-holder will be expected to provide clinical/chairside supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students and trainees as well as maintaining consultant level clinical activity. An appropriate honorary consultant position with NHS Tayside will be sought.

Your priorities will include:

  • Perform teaching duties in relation to clinical and didactic teaching of undergraduate (BDS and BSc) and postgraduate students in restorative dentistry
  • Undertake research leading to high quality REF-returnable publications
  • Undertake the role of Final Year Lead for the BDS course
  • Clinical teaching, supervision and examination of undergraduate students (BDS and BSc) with an emphasis on clinical care
  • Undertake clinical duties as Honorary Consultant within Restorative Dentistry in conjunction with NHS Tayside including training of training grade and SAS grade staff

Who we’re looking for:

  • BDS or equivalent
  • Full registration with the GDC
  • On GDC Specialist List for Restorative Dentistry or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of the interview date
  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant topic area
  • Evidence of research in Restorative Dentistry and/or other relevant topic areas
