A Combined Hospital and Private Practice Consultant / Specialist Orthodontist Required

This is a rare opportunity for a Consultant / Specialist orthodontist to work full-time in a unique dual role on the island of Guernsey. One part of the role would be as the Consultant orthodontist at Health and Social Care’s department of Child Dental Health, based at the island’s hospital one day per week. The other part of the role, four days per week, would be as an associate, or joining the partnership, of a multi-disciplined fully private practice.

You would be replacing both the only orthodontic specialist on the island in private practice, and the visiting orthodontic Consultant to HSC (there is NO NHS at all on Guernsey). There would be scope to phase in the take-over if required. Both roles have long-term established and excellent referral bases of highly motivated patients. The private practice has both child and adult referrals and both roles come with excellent remuneration and only 20% income tax.
The private practice also has two full time experienced general practitioners who provide a complete range of modern treatments, one of whom undertakes advanced implant cases, and two hygienists.

The Child Dental Health unit at the hospital has additional practitioners who provide paediatric dental services including orthodontic treatments to the under 12s by referral. Both venues have all the usual trained support staff as well.
The position would suit a hospital consultant or an experienced registered specialist.
