Qualified Dental Nurse - Dolgellau - Gwynedd

Salary negotiable depending upon experience

Practice Working Hours: 

Mondays - Fridays: 8:30am-5:45pm

Purpose of the job

Provide clinical support to dentists, hygienists and patients, assist with reception or any clerical duties as required and perform such other tasks as reasonably requested by the practice.

Opportunities for career development are available and encouraged routinely by the practice. Many Eirlys nurses have undergone MPWIP training and are now able to apply fluoride varnish and work independently in designated OH Nurse clinics. 

Key tasks

• Prepare and maintain the clinical environment, including the equipment
• Chair side assistance to the clinician
• Carry out infection prevention and control procedures
• Record dental charting 
• Prepare equipment materials and patients for dental radiography
• Process dental radiographs
• Monitor, support and reassure patients
• Give appropriate patient advice
• Support the patient and your colleagues if there is an emergency
• Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals
• Perform additional procedures following appropriate training
