We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as Senior Clinical Teacher/Senior Lecturer (either option will attract Honorary Consultant status) in Restorative Dentistry to lead our postgraduate Masters programme in Prosthodontics, provide consultant level clinical duties and teaching, and undertake research and research leadership in the School of Dentistry. The School is consistently credited as one of the top places in the world to study dentistry and is run by a team of highly motivated University and NHS colleagues who pass on their skills and expertise to tomorrow’s generation of health professionals. Be prepared to join them in delivering an exciting and challenging programme as well as enhancing it with your own expertise.
You will have: BDS qualification or equivalent, full registration with the GDC, a Masters qualification in a relevant specialty area (or alternatively a PhD), and already be on the GDC Specialist List for Restorative Dentistry or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of the interview date.
Your priorities will include:
- Lead the MDSc/MClinDent programme in Prosthodontics
- Perform teaching duties in relation to clinical and didactic teaching of undergraduate (BDS and BSC) and postgraduate students in Restorative Dentistry
- Undertake clinical duties as Honorary Consultant within Restorative Dentistry in conjunction with NHS Tayside including training of training grade and SAS grade staff
- Collaborate with colleagues both within and outside the School of Dentistry in developing research activities and collaborations, as well as develop own research profile, including grant applications and generating research outputs (publications)
- Develop sustainable partnerships across the University and beyond to meet the strategies of the School and University
Who we’re looking for:
- BDS or equivalent
- Full registration with the GDC
- A PhD qualification - desirable
- A Masters qualification in a relevant specialty area (e.g., MClinDent)
- A postgraduate teaching qualification
