Senior Clinical Lecturer/Reader/Chair/Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational individual to provide
leadership in Paediatric Dentistry within our undergraduate BDS and Dental
Therapy and Hygiene programmes.

As such, we seek an enthusiastic individual who has achieved relevant specialist status in Paediatric Dentistry and expertise in this area, possessing a BDS (or equivalent) degree and full GDC registration (or UK eligibility for registration) as a specialist in Paediatric Dentistry.

Progressive healthcare education and patient care are successfully integrated with world famous research facilities in our major teaching and research centre. You will join academic and clinical staff who are recognised as world-leading experts in their fields, providing valuable clinical services to the people of Wales in addition to their academic responsibilities.

The successful candidate will have experience of developing and implementing curricula and assessment, particularly in relation to Paediatric Dentistry. They will take a leading role in the clinical and academic training of undergraduate students within Paediatric Dentistry and the development of their patient management, and clinical skills; ensuring linkage between the didactic and clinical components of the Undergraduate programmes to ensure students become knowledgeable, proficient and ethical practitioners. In addition, they will provide clinical leadership and a consultant-led service in Paediatric Dentistry.

There are opportunities to develop or participate in research within the School.

Appointment is offered at Clinical Senior Lecturer to Reader level, though for candidates meeting the relevant benchmarks set by Cardiff University, appointment may be made at Professorial level.

This is a full-time, open-ended post and is available from 1 May 2021.

Salary Scale: An appointment will be made on an appropriate point on the Clinical Academic Salary Scale.
