Lead Clinician – Devon (Exeter, East, Mid and North)

Salary & Allowances: Band C – £77,732 - £89,333 pa
(Plus a generous education allowance and NHS contributory pension scheme)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Clinician to work in Special Care Dentistry at Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, an innovative Trust that is consistently ranked top in the country for staff satisfaction.

This is a salaried position, based in Devon, without the stress of UDAs and clawback, which also includes the benefit of a full NHS pension. The role is well supported by a highly motivated, multidisciplinary team of dentists, dental therapists, post graduate trainees, dental nurses and admin staff ensuring you the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the community.

The Lead Clinician will work in partnership with the General Manager to develop the service and contribute towards strategic and operational planning. They will provide clear and visible leadership to a team of Band B Dentists and will act as a role model, providing clinical and leadership support to the wider dental team. Time will be allocated for this activity and it is envisaged that the Lead Clinician will also continue to act in a clinical capacity 2 – 3 days a week.

Our dental service has close links with hospital consultants, professional care services and clinical training programmes providing opportunities for continuing professional development, research and teaching.

This post is offered on a full-time basis.

The Devon Salaried Dental Service operates within 7 locations based across Exeter, East, Mid and North Devon and incorporates five broad work streams including; special care, general anaesthesia and sedation, urgent care, oral surgery, oral health promotion and oral screening and epidemiology.

Our medical staffing team will help you get settled, providing financial relocation support, registration for children at one of the excellent local schools and support for partners seeking employment.

Full GDC registration and a PCT performer number are essential.
