The Prosthodontics Unit has a first class national and international reputation for its patient care, teaching and research activities. The Unit provides high level advice and treatment of an advanced nature in conservative dentistry and fixed and removable prosthodontics, including implantology for patients referred by general dental practitioners and other hospitals.

A central focus of the Unit is to provide high quality patient care through the educational programme for postgraduates in Prosthodontics at Masters and Specialist levels as well as Specialist Registrars in Restorative Dentistry. Our programmes attract trainees from across the world.

The main purpose of this post is to lead, support and assist in the development of education and research activities relevant to Prosthodontics, and to play an integral role in the delivery of care to patients.

The post-holder will play a significant role in leading and coordinating the development and delivery of postgraduate education, incuding clinical supervision and didactic teaching of postgraduate students enrolled in our Programmes. The post-holder will be expected to lead and contribute to the continuous development of our porgrammes, and will be expected to undertake and supervise research to an international excellent standard including MSc dissertations/research projects. Through effective and high quality teaching the post-holder will inspire students, enabling students to develop the required skills and knowledge within their field of study.

The postholder must have a masters (or equivalent) qualification in Prosthodontics. They must have experience of delivering postgraduate teaching in Prosthodontics and supervising Masters level projects and dissertations. The successful candidate will also have experience of providing specialist level dental practice in a dental hospital setting.

The successful candidate will have completed a relevant specialist training programme. They must also be eligibile for full registration on the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC) Register and on the relevant specialist list. Pending a successful AAC, the appointment will be on the UCL Consultant Clinical Academic grade.
