About the Role

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for a Clinical Senior Lecturer / Honorary Consultants in Oral Surgery in the Institute of Dentistry, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London and Barts Health NHS Trust.

The posts are based at the Whitechapel Campus in London (although the post holder may also be required to carry out duties on other College/Hospital sites)

Within the University you will play an active role in the organisation and delivery of teaching as well as assessment of undergraduate and post graduate students in oral surgery.

Within the Trust you will be expected to provide specialist services, advice and treatment appropriate to the needs of the Institute of Dentistry and the Trust by liaising and collaborating with senior colleagues within the Institute of Dentistry and within Barts Health NHS Trust.

Whilst primarily a Teaching and Scholarship appointment within the University you will be encouraged to develop your own independent research programmes within the framework of the institute’s research strategy and priorities. We are happy to consider applications from existing consultants or senior academics.

About You

We seek experienced applicants with clinical specialist skills in Oral Surgery to contribute fully to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical services.

Appropriate honorary clinical contracts will be requested from Barts Health NHS Trust and the successful applicants will be expected to take part in all aspects of clinical governance activities.

This full time post is indefinite with an expected start date of September 2020 or soon thereafter. Appointments will be made on the salary scale for staff holding a new Honorary Consultant Contract, with a salary in the range of £82,096 - £110,683 per annum depending on experience and seniority/threshold, plus London Allowance of £2,161 per annum. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
