Assistant or Associate Professor—Behavioral Sciences

Department of Oral Health Sciences, Temple University, Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry

Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry is seeking candidates for two full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank.   Applicants must have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, health psychology or behavioral sciences with emphasis on evaluation and outcomes assessment in health settings and public health.  The candidates are expected to develop courses and teach in an integrated clinical comprehensive clinical setting where patients’ dental, medical, physical, and behavioral factors are managed, and coordinate interprofessional education activities.  The candidates must have a track record in research that focuses on developing and evaluating interventions and must have existing funding or be well-trained to conduct NIH/NSF level or equivalent research that can be funded in any area related to health.  The candidates are expected to mentor clinical faculty in communication and behavioral management in clinical settings.  Research and teaching are primary foci of this faculty position.   Candidates with research grants are encouraged to apply. Depending on research interests, candidates may collaborate on a NIH study on the management of dental anxiety and its treatment among patients at TUKSoD. The position may also offer the opportunity to provide clinical psychological services at the school or an affiliated medical clinic to PA licensed or license eligible candidates.
