Dental Core Training (DCT) is a period of postgraduate development which extends for a period of up to 3 years from the end of Dental Vocational (Foundation) Training. DCT provides experience in a variety of settings and specialties, prior to entry into Specialty Training, General Dental Practice or the Public Dental Service.
Dental Core Training Posts in Scotland commencing September 2020:
*DCT1 (32 posts), DCT2 (31 posts), DCT3 (24 posts)
Successful completion of Dental Specialty Training leads to inclusion on one of the GDC’s specialist lists. The training period depends on the specialty and varies from three to five years.
Posts available for 2020 recruitment will be made available on the NES website. Scotland will be offering programmes in Restorative Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics and Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology.
