We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Clinical Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry. 

Applications are invited from suitably trained and qualified dental surgeons for this opportunity for qualified dentists looking for a stimulating and rewarding career as a clinical academic.  

We are looking to appoint academic staff to provide clinical teaching to dental students, clinical service and research, contributing to the growth and development of teaching and research activity in the School.  

We will consider full and/or part-time appointments which will be permanent posts subject, where appropriate, to satisfactory completion of probation. 

Your priorities will include:

  • The clinical teaching, supervision, mentoring and examination of undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Lectures, seminars, tutorials and examinations for dental students
  • Research activity which could include pedagogy in line with our research interests
  • Clinical duties in Restorative Dentistry in conjunction with NHS Tayside
  • Examining for undergraduate and postgraduate students

Who we’re looking for:

  • BDS or equivalent
  • Full registration with the GDC
  • At least 3 years' experience in general/community practice/hospital practice
  • Ability to engage in research and generate outputs of a standard required for submission to the UK Research Excellence Framework
  • Ability to plan challenging and innovative learning activities and effective assessment methods
