Practice Manager

This independent busy mixed practice in Nottingham are looking to recruit a Practice Manager to start as soon as possible.

The role is to work full time and the hours are to be confirmed.

This role is available due to the current PM retiring.

They are offering £21K+ depending on experience - this will be discussed at interview stage.

the suitable candidate will have worked as a nurse previously and have some experience.

This practice is fully equipped and computerised using Software of Excellence - experience required

Ensure the efficient day-to-day management of the practice

Personnel

• Take line management responsibility for dental receptionists and dental nurses
• Arrange for and undertake the recruitment and selection of permanent and temporary staff
• Arrange staff induction and training
• Keep and monitor staff records particularly with regard to sickness absence and annual leave
• Work out part-timers hours each month for payroll
• Organise courses for all staff
• Organise practice meetings
• Rota staff on a weekly basis
• Organise Hep B file

Patients
• Ensure the operation of the practice complaints procedure
• Deal with patient queries
• Type patient letters when necessary
• Keep patient leaflet and other patient communication up to date

Administration

• Ensure the maintenance of the practice computer system
• Transmit claims to DPB, monitor responses
• Organise audits and risk assessments where necessary
• Monitor dentist files and organise courses where necessary
• Maintain practice policy file and update accordingly

Equipment and health and safety

• Ensure practice compliance with health and safety requirements
• Ensure stock is sufficient
• Arrange regular maintenance of practice equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions eg defib
• Frank post and ensure top-up franking machine where necessary
• Maintain shredder
• Check dates on all emergency drugs and first aid box
