Grade: Clinical Academic SL with Honorary Consultant Status

The School of Dentistry has now been in operation for eleven years and is rooted firmly in Primary Care, operating across a number of sites in Lancashire and Cumbria. Due to programme expansions, we are now seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Honorary Consultant in Periodontology,
where you will work across undergraduate and postgraduate provision. In addition to influencing overall strategic direction, you will provide academic and clinical leadership in the teaching of periodontology and Course Leadership for the clinical MSc programme in Periodontology.

We require you to have comprehensive clinical experience in periodontology, including teaching, clinical supervision and assessment of students. In addition, you will be fully registered with the GDC and hold Specialist List membership in either Restorative Dentistry or Periodontology. It is desirable that you are eligible for appointment as an Honorary Consultant in the NHS and that you have had some involvement in research.

You will have excellent clinical and communication skills, along with the ability to work well within a team and you will be IT literate in the use of standard Microsoft packages. The work requires some regional travel.
