100% Private Specialist Orthodontist Position at Andrea Ubhi Dentistry in Historic York. 

The Role: This is an exciting position of up to 2 days/week (approx 8 days/month) for a specialist orthodontist to take over new patients in the footsteps of an established diary which is very busy and highly profitable, due to our colleague semi-retiring. 

Our Patients: Our patients are referred from across Yorkshire, referred from our multi-disciplinary team and refer themselves. There is a mix of adults and children, with the majority of patients being adults.

Our Team: We have an award-winning team focusing on dental implants, cosmetic and restorative dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, and prosthodontics. You will have your own dedicated Nurse and a Treatment Coordinator. You will receive help to provide courses for referral dentists, submit articles to dental magazines and apply for awards to increase referrals, if appropriate.

Our Orthodontics: We offer our patients all types of orthodontics, including metal, ceramic and lingual brackets, and Invisalign. We provide:

• Simple to complex orthodontics
• Lingual orthodontics
• Anchorage with implants
• Up-righting teeth
• Intrusion of over-erupted teeth

We offer ‘gold standard’ orthodontics, rather than short-term/‘aesthetic-only’ braces. We have an outstanding track record of maintaining retention, without relapse. We look at the success of orthodontic treatment in three ways, one being beautiful teeth, the second being a great functioning occlusion and the third, which reflects the first two, is life-long stability with retention. 

Mentoring: We believe in nurturing our team, and our highly experienced clinicians and support team will be available to provide training for you as appropriate. Our retiring orthodontist will remain working for 2 years.  He is a trainer in Incognito, and will be available to train if appropriate.  

Our Practice: Andrea Ubhi Dentistry is both a referral practice and a practice for self-referrals. We have a newly refurbished practice in a Grade 2 listed building in the heart of historic York, close to the Minster. There are four new state-of-the-art surgeries with high specification equipment and digital radiography, including CBCT scanner, Lateral Ceph. and OPT.  There is a staff area, including a dining room/kitchen, bathroom with shower and storage area.

Income: We provide generous remuneration, up to 50%.  

Flexibility: The position could be worked as a single position of 2 days/week (or 8 days/month), or the position could be worked as a job-share, with two clinicians working 1 day each/week. Due to the year on year growth, more days could be added in time. 

Our City: York was named city of the Year UK in 2018, because it is beautiful, historic and gives a great quality of life. It is a university town and is also one of the top 3 visited cities in the UK. We adore York.

Getting Here:

By car: York is an easy commute by car, with Park and Rides on each side of the city.

By train: York is on the national mainline between Edinburgh, Newcastle, and London (London: 1 hr 49 mins). Leeds, Harrogate, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield have direct train lines. The practice is 7 mins walk from the train station.
