Consultant in Special Care Dentistry

Based at Cwmbran Health Centre, SE Wales

This is a Consultant in Special Care Dentistry post based at Cwmbran Health Centre, Torfaen. The post is for 8 sessions a week including 6 Direct Clinical Care Sessions, one Research and Development Session for Community Dental Service (CDS) and a further session to Support Professional Activity.

The post holder has the responsibility to provide Special Care Dentistry for vulnerable adults including dental conscious sedation and general anaesthesia within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The post holder may be asked to lead in the development and provision of oral care for vulnerable people in all areas of Special Care Dentistry across Gwent. The post holder will support and progress research and development for the CDS.

Free parking is available across all Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Sites.

This position involves Regulated Activity with children and adults as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) and the following checks will be undertaken following any conditional offer:

  • Enhanced check with barred list information, including, an adults and children’s barred list check

Applicants must hold full registration with the GDC and appear on the GDC Specialist Register.
