We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Dental Officer to join our busy Public Dental Service (PDS) to provide comprehensive patient-centred dental care to Special Care patients across NHS Dumfries and
Galloway. You will provide a wide range of services to a diverse group of Special Care patients, including adults and children whose dental care needs are beyond either the ability or scope of local general dental services. This will include patients with complex medical conditions, learning difficulties and dental anxiety. Clinical experience of provision of dental services to Special Care patients is desirable, but is not essential as training will be provided. Other duties may include provision of dental services at HMP Dumfries and in domiciliary settings across Dumfries and Galloway as well as General Anaesthetic sessions at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI) and Galloway Community Hospital (GCH), Stranraer. The post holder would be based at Dumfries Dental Centre and also provide regular clinical sessions at GCH.

Please note that this post is eligible for the General Dental Services Recruitment and Retention allowance as Dumfries and Stranraer are classified as non-designated areas.
