Call for applications for NIHR In-Practice Fellowships - 2019
Applications are invited for National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) In-Practice Fellowship awards. The scheme funded by the NIHR Academy is part of the Integrated Academic Training (IAT) programme set up to improve career pathways for researchers in both medicine and dentistry.
The NIHR In-Practice Fellowships form part of the IAT portfolio and are designed to provide support for fully-qualified General Practitioners, General Dental Practitioners and Community Dentists who have outstanding potential for development as a researcher and/or educationalist.
The Fellowships will provide part-funding for the basic salary (50%) which will allow the practitioner to have protected time to develop academic skills and is expected to involve the preparation of an application for a competitive, peer-reviewed Research Training Fellowship leading to the award of a higher degree such as a NIHR Doctoral Fellowship. Where appropriate this may include the completion of a Master’s degree. Funding for each NIHR In-Practice Fellowship is available for a maximum of two years.
Full details of the NIHR In-Practice Fellowship funding opportunities, eligibility criteria and application process are available from the NIHR Academy website at: http://www.nihr.ac.uk/ipf
Closing date for applications: 28th March 2019
