About the role

This role is perfect for an experienced and ambitious individual looking for an exciting senior academic leadership position to advance oral healthcare. This unique opportunity will provide you with the platform to transform the future of our students, our colleagues, and our external partners in the changing landscape of higher education and healthcare.

As Dean of the School of Dentistry, one of four Schools in the Faculty of Medicine and Health, you’ll join forces with our dynamic leadership team to promote the delivery of innovative and strategic academic development. We’ll look to you to provide overall direction; setting the strategic vision and investment priorities for the School and contributing to the development and implementation of Faculty and University Strategy.

You’ll need the strategic vision and leadership strengths necessary to maintain the upward trajectory of the School through inspiring, motivating and developing staff to achieve their full potential. And you’ll be passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience and world-leading research.

About you

Bring us a PhD in a relevant discipline or equivalent research experience. Combine this with a demonstrable track record of successful delivery of ambitious and imaginative senior academic leadership of relevance to Dentistry, including evidence of setting strategy and identifying priorities.

You’ll also recognise the importance of research-led teaching through your own experience and have an excellent track record of oral health or related research, with publications that meet international standards of academic excellence. And of course you’ll need excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to promote and maintain effective professional relationships and influential strategic partnerships at all levels.
