META – Measuring Erosive Toothwear Accurately

King’s College London seeks PhD applicants for an iCASE award with GSK. The META project continues the research group’s investigation on erosion. Initial informal contact to Professor Bartlett (david.bartlett@kcl.ac.uk) or Dr Austin (Rupert.s.austin@kcl.ac.uk).

Combining research & experience at King’s & GSK, the project will validate a custom-built surface-matching software with lab-based highly accurate laser scanners to measure wear on natural enamel surfaces. Student will train in high-precision imaging & measurement, chemical analysis, software development & use of imaging techniques to address real-world problems & foster expertise for a career in industry/academia.
