Relocate to Idyllic Guernsey, Channel Islands

We are searching for a well presented, bright and energetic Dental Hygienist or Hygienist Therapist to relocate to the beautiful island of Guernsey, where you will join one of the most successful practices on the island.

We are a busy private dental practice looking for a talented and enthusiastic dental hygienist or hygienist/therapist to join us in a great deal of fun in our stunning, newly refurbished Dental Practice. We specialise in General Dentistry, Orthodontics, and Aesthetic Services, including in-house Zoom whitening, which we are keen to further develop. We also have an in-house Nutritionist and Psychotherapist to offer advice and assistance for medically compromised or anxious patients - and we have a passion for offering the best patient experience possible!

We want you to achieve your full potential at a practice that is hygiene led. You have the opportunity to inspire your patients to contribute to the prevention of dental disease for themselves. We aim for "best practice" in everything we do. Carry out dental hygiene treatment under the prescription of a dentist in line with current legislation and regulations and in accordance with the GDC requirements under reasonable guidance from the principal and perform such other tasks as the principle shall reasonably request, such as assisting the Principal from time-to-time. You must:

  • Be registered with the General Dental Council
  • Maintain accurate clinical records
  • Maintain high level of patient care
  • Have the ability to communicate with patients and staff

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge and experience in using Software of Excellence EXACT software

About Us:

Queen's Road Dental Centre is located on the Queen's Road in Guernsey, just a short walk from the picturesque town of St Peter Port. We have a full service, private dental practice in a beautifully appointed building of our own, with ample parking. Our principal dentist has been practising in Guernsey for 15 years and is widely known in Guernsey for his two-phase Orthodontic treatment, as well as his music-filled Treatment Suite and his passion for perfection as well as facilitating a fun and happy working environment. Our Associate Dentist is full of energy and as passionate as the rest of the team.

Guernsey is a safe and beautiful island, surrounded by beaches and rugged coastlines, with an annual average temperature of about 18 degrees. We are 35 minutes flight to Gatwick and close to France and many other destinations. With a short traffic-free drive to the airport, you can leave home and be in Central London in just over 3 hours thanks to the Gatwick Express!

However, not only is the general rate of income tax lower in Guernsey than in many other places, there are fewer taxes to pay.  For example, did you know that in Guernsey there is: No VAT, No Capital Gains Tax, No Inheritance Tax or any Wealth Taxes, no Council or Road Tax.

If you are coming to work on the island you need to know that income tax for Guernsey residents is calculated at 20% after some very generous personal allowances. Residents also have to pay Social Security which goes towards the cost of medical care, pensions and other benefits. Those who are employed pay Social Security at a rate of 6% of their earnings (deducted at source by their employer – the employer contributes 6.5% on top of this amount), although there are upper and lower earnings limits which apply.

There is no VAT or any other form of goods and sales tax, so straightaway consumer goods should cost less than in mainland Britain. An advantage for local residents is that when we order goods from the mainland we can have the VAT deducted so if we go on a shopping spree in a country where VAT is charged we can claim the tax back at the airport before coming home – always a nice end to a trip!

We will apply for a licence to live and work in Guernsey on your behalf. We can also assist in your home search and can offer temporary accommodating, depending upon your requirements.

Is it time to start a new life in a beautiful, idyllic location? If so, please send your CV together with a photo to:  marni@qrdc.co.uk
