The University invites applications for the one post as part of the National Institute of Health Research Trainees Coordinating Centre programme of Integrated Academic Training.

As part of our commitment to a long term strategy for increasing clinical research capacity within Dentistry, these posts have been created in the Division of Dentistry. The primary focus of this post is to make a significant contribution to our research programmes and at this stage we have not specified one or more clinical specialty, as academic potential is the main quality we are looking for. Applications are therefore invited from outstanding and ambitious clinical dental researchers to join one of our highly successful research teams. You will be expected to have completed (or be near to completion) a PhD or equivalent, to have the necessary qualities to be of clinical leader in their chosen discipline and to have a clear passion for, and demonstrable leadership potential in, dental research.

A National Training Number for specialist training will also be available: the educational monitoring of this post will be undertaken by the North West Deanery, and the successful candidate will undergo an Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP), as well as clinical competency testing and peer review under supervision of an educational supervisor and mentoring scheme. The University would also encourage post-doctoral general dental practitioners to apply for the posts. Full registration with the General Dental Council will be requirement and you will also be expected to contribute to the School’s teaching programmes.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
